For the launch of The Martian, Bing created an online experience to map stranded astronaut Mark Watney’s journey across Mars. The experience highlighted Bing Maps’ capabilities — you can explore Mars! — while bringing key destinations from the movie to life. Visitors also got special, sharable The Martian content, like trailers and space-related fun facts, as well as nearby theater locations and links to purchase tickets. Our social campaign teased incoming transmissions from Watney with map updates counting down to the movie release.
